Abstract

I created her through wool felting, trance states, and prayer. Dry needle felting is a practice which involves sculpting wool using a barbed needle in a rhythmic motion which often puts me into a trance state. This art form is in the ancient European women's folk tradition of creating dolls from wool and other natural materials as the material nexus of earthly, cosmic, and human emergent creative magics.
