Abstract

This article examines the portrayal of animals in Franz Kafka's fiction, particularly the lack of specificity in their categorization. Unlike other modern writers, Kafka rarely names specific animal species in his works, instead opting for ambiguous descriptions. The author argues that this approach challenges traditional categorizations and emphasizes the individuality and subjectivity of the characters. The article also suggests that traditional methods of analysis may not fully capture the innovative nature of Kafka's animal stories. [Extracted from the article]
