Abstract
The article talks about child rulers who were a common feature of late medieval Scotland to determine how far back into the kingdom's early history this tradition of child rulership can be traced. Cited are the significant roles they play in the making of Scotland, the occurrences of boy kings and infant queens in Scotland before the 12th century, and the rarity of evidence in recovering the birth dates for most early medieval kings of Scots.
