Abstract
A literary criticism of the short story "The Egg," by Sherwood Anderson is presented. It examines Anderson's satirization of explorer Christopher Columbus' discovery of the New World, the significance of Anderson's works in studies on Columbus narratives, and the reflection of the issues identified by Anderson in his writings with those the Society of American Indians in the Midwest grappled with during the same period.
