Abstract
The article discusses the Book of Kells, a national treasure housed in Trinity College, Dublin. The Book of Kells is part of a large collection in the university's library, which is the largest in Ireland and contains diverse materials such as the 1641 Depositions and materials related to the Irish Arts and Crafts movement. The article describes the newly designed treasury and display case for the Book of Kells, as well as interventions in the Long Room of the library. It also mentions a new structure, the Book of Kells Experience, which offers a unique audiovisual journey through the collections of Trinity College. The article highlights the distinction between a museum and the Book of Kells Experience, which does not have a permanent collection but draws on the archives and manuscripts across the campus to create digital content. The article concludes by suggesting that such experiences may be the future of presenting the past. [Extracted from the article]
