Abstract

The article focuses on evaluating a 2-day interdisciplinary, skill-based, and victim-centered training program for law enforcement officers on child sex trafficking. Since the 2000 passage of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act, law enforcement training in human trafficking has expanded but remains inconsistent and understudied across jurisdictions. Analysis of pre- and post-training surveys from 187 participants shows significant improvements in perceived knowledge and self-efficacy related to trafficking. The findings suggest the need for broader implementation of comprehensive, skill-focused training involving multiple stakeholders, including trafficking survivors, to enhance policing and research efforts.
