Abstract
Global pandemic realities of the last couple of years have not improved the ability of China and Japan to face history on sober, non-zero-sum terms. In 2002, Vogel presided over an East Asian conference that examined the war known in Japan as the Japan-China War of 1937-1945 and in China as the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
