Abstract
The article focuses on the unveiling of a new community mural in Albany, New York, created through a partnership between PaintCare and the Albany Parking Authority to promote paint stewardship and local recycling. The mural, designed by local artist Quill Harrison using leftover paint from PaintCare’s statewide program, highlights environmental responsibility and public art’s role in community engagement. PaintCare, founded by paint companies through the American Coatings Association (ACA), manages leftover paint in states with paint stewardship laws and has established over 350 recycling drop-off sites in New York since 2019. The project exemplifies collaboration between industry, local government, and artists to foster sustainability and enhance public spaces.
