Abstract
Wendy L. Rouse's book, "Public Faces, Secret Lives: A Queer History of the Women's Suffrage Movement," provides a comprehensive and multicultural perspective on the history of woman suffrage in the United States. Rouse argues that queer people played a crucial role in the movement, but their stories were often erased by other activists who wanted to present a respectable image.
