Abstract
The article focuses on author Richard Bovet's "Pandæmonium" or "the Devil's Cloyster" and its appropriation of material from the first book of poet John Milton's "Paradise Lost" to prove the existence of witches and spirits and their ruinous impact on a nation in 1684.
