Abstract

The article from Canada's History discusses the life of Colin Fraser, a fur trader born in 1849 in what was then Rupert's Land. Fraser, who had a Cree mother and a Scottish father, worked for the Hudson's Bay Company in Edmonton before becoming an independent fur trader at Fort Chipewyan in the Northwest Territories. The article includes a photograph of Fraser sorting black fox pelts, highlighting his role in the fur trade industry during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. [Extracted from the article]
