Abstract
This article discusses the attribution history of the play "The Tragedy of King Saul" and the discovery of new manuscript extracts. The play was first printed in 1703 with an anonymous author, but various attributions have been suggested over the years, including Lord Orrery and Dr. Trapp. The article focuses on the newly discovered manuscript extracts from the play, which were found in the Rosenbach Museum & Library. These extracts provide insight into the play's authorship and themes, highlighting the familial and erotic relationships depicted in the play. The article suggests that the manuscript may represent a return from print to manuscript, similar to other Restoration plays. [Extracted from the article]
