Abstract
This monograph provides an extraordinary and very complex analysis of the role of African Diaspora personalities in lending support to the Chinese Revolution which culminated in both the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949 and the expansion of the Communist world in the wake of the Second World War. Hughes and Si-Lan Chen are perhaps a metaphor of the tenuous bonds that continue to link China and the United States by way of Africa. [Extracted from the article]
