Abstract

The article focuses on three medical studies related to disease diagnosis and treatment. The first study reports that LAMP5 protein is significantly overexpressed in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients, showing 100% sensitivity and 96.87% specificity, though further research with larger samples is needed to clarify its prognostic value. The second study evaluates peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) as a treatment for achalasia type III and other esophageal motility disorders, finding it to be a safe and effective procedure that significantly reduces symptoms. The third study retrospectively examines liver injury in non-ICU hospitalized COVID-19 patients, identifying significant differences in liver enzyme levels and bilirubin between mild and severe cases, highlighting hepatic involvement as an important aspect of COVID-19.
