This article focuses on the digitization and educational promotion of Song Dynasty cultural heritage (CH) patterns, emphasizing their naturalness and moderate elegance. Through a preliminary public survey on a Chinese platform, the research confirmed significant interest in CH and identified documentary videos as an optimal digital format for learning. Using MATLAB and ACDSee software, Song Dynasty patterns were digitally enhanced and incorporated into a documentary video, which was then shown to ethnocultural students; results indicated that the video intervention improved knowledge acquisition more effectively than traditional lectures, though both methods similarly raised awareness of CH preservation. The study highlights the potential of digital technologies to preserve and popularize Song Dynasty artifacts and suggests further research on 3D cultural objects and broader audience engagement strategies.
