Welcoming Fireside Chats to the Field of Leadership.

The article introduces the "Fireside Chats" commentary series at the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, designed to broaden leadership research dialogue by providing reflective, creative, and generative spaces for senior scholars to share wisdom and inspire new ideas outside traditional peer review processes. Inspired by Franklin D. Roosevelt's original Fireside Chats, the series aims to foster open conversations that encourage deeper reflection on assumptions, creative experimentation, and the sharing of collective wisdom within the leadership field. Initial and forthcoming commentaries address diverse topics such as methodological influences on research, institutionalizing leadership development, gender and feminist perspectives in leadership theories, the impact of artificial intelligence on leadership, and executive leadership development. The series seeks to create accessible forums that nurture collaboration, critical thinking, and the advancement of leadership scholarship.
