Abstract
The article examines the correspondence and political interactions between Margaret Tudor, queen of Scots and sister to Henry VIII of England, and Anne Boleyn, Henry's second wife, during the mid-1530s. It highlights Margaret's efforts to broker a peaceful summit between Henry VIII, James V of Scotland (her son), and Francis I of France, with Anne's involvement in supporting these diplomatic initiatives. Despite preparations, including the exchange of letters and gifts, the summit never occurred, partly due to political tensions and Anne Boleyn's downfall, culminating in her execution in 1536. The article also discusses the impact of Anne's death on Margaret Tudor and the subsequent imprisonment of Margaret's daughter, Margaret Douglas, for a secret betrothal linked to Anne's court circle.
