Abstract

Astronomers have discovered evidence for a midsize black hole, filling the gap between stellar black holes and supermassive ones. By studying the movement of stars in the globular cluster Omega Centauri over 20 years, researchers found several stars moving at high speeds, indicating the presence of a massive unseen object. This finding supports the theory that midsize black holes exist and may help explain the growth of supermassive black holes. Further observations using the James Webb Space Telescope are planned to confirm the discovery. [Extracted from the article]
