Abstract

The article focuses on the William G. Pomeroy Foundation’s Patriot Burials Marker Grant Program, which honors Revolutionary War veterans by providing historical markers at their burial sites. Partnering with Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) state societies, the program has placed over 240 markers nationwide, including more than 180 in collaboration with the Empire State Society SAR. The Stillwater Union Cemetery in Saratoga County, New York, is highlighted as the resting place of numerous Revolutionary War veterans who served in various regiments, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of those who fought for American independence. The program aims to recognize and preserve the memory of these individuals who contributed to the founding of the United States. [Extracted from the article]
