Abstract
The article focuses on the 12th SITE SANTA FE International exhibition, titled *Once Within a Time*, held across multiple locations in Santa Fe and surrounding areas from June 27, 2025, to January 12, 2026. Curated by Cecilia Alemani, the exhibition centers on 27 local historical and fictional characters and features works by 71 artists from local, national, and international backgrounds, exploring individual lives and regional histories through diverse media. Key themes include Indigenous storytelling, nuclear history, environmental issues, and cultural memory, with installations ranging from traditional Pueblo ceramics to contemporary multimedia works. The exhibition also engages with New Mexico's complex legacy of colonization, healing, and environmental challenges, presenting a nuanced dialogue between past and present across various sites including SITE SANTA FE, Finquita in Tesuque, and the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian.
