Abstract
The article focuses on the diplomatic tensions between Algeria and France following the arrest of French-Algerian writer Boualem Sansal on national security charges in Algeria, which France criticized as a violation of freedom of expression. Algeria rejected France's accusations of interference, asserting that Sansal's detention relates to offenses against territorial integrity under Algerian law. The dispute escalated with Algeria deporting a French influencer and France threatening retaliatory measures. Additionally, the article briefly reports on a political partnership agreement between the Central African Republic and Russia, and ongoing efforts by Egypt to open the Rafah border crossing to facilitate aid into Gaza amid a tentative ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
