Abstract
The article focuses on clarifying the concept of macrobiotics, emphasizing that it is not a fixed "macrobiotic diet" but rather a flexible macrobiotic approach to food and lifestyle based on individual and environmental conditions. Originating from George Ohsawa's philosophy of balancing yin and yang energies and adapting to changing circumstances, macrobiotics encourages whole grains and fresh vegetables as dietary staples while minimizing processed foods, meat, sugar, and dairy. Key principles include the importance of food quality, local and seasonal eating, personal experimentation, and the body's natural healing ability. The article critiques the common misconception of macrobiotics as a rigid diet and advocates for a dynamic, individualized practice aligned with macrobiotic philosophy.
