Abstract
Kim Philby, a prominent UK intelligence operative, was revealed to be a Soviet double-agent who passed secrets to the enemy for decades. Philby, along with the Cambridge Five spy-ring, stole confidential documents and sabotaged operations, with Philby being considered the deadliest of the group. His recruitment by the KGB, espionage activities in Spain, and eventual defection to Moscow in 1963 are detailed, along with his role in the disastrous Operation Valuable. Philby's life in Moscow, memoir publication, and controversial legacy are also discussed, shedding light on his complex motivations and lasting impact on Cold War history.
