Abstract
The article focuses on Katherine de Valois, widow of Henry V, secretly married Owen Tudor in about 1430, and their third son, Edward Tudor, was initially recorded by the Italian historian Polydore Vergil. It mentions confusion was introduced when Francis Sandford referred to the third son as Owen. It also mentions confusion has persisted with modern sources such as the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography listing both Owen and Edward as couple's third son.
