Abstract
An interview with Ben Spatz, an author, Michelle Liu Carriger, an associate professor of Theater at UCLA and Eero Laine, an associate professor at the University at Buffalo, is presented. They discussed their collaborative article, "The Unbearable Whiteness of John Brown: Theatrical Legacies and Performing Abolition". They mentioned their diverse perspectives on John Brown as a historical and performative figure, exploring themes of abolition, whiteness, and masculinity.
