Abstract

The Eiffel Tower, initially criticized by some as useless and barbaric, has become an iconic symbol of France and a popular tourist destination. The tower has undergone multiple color changes over the years, with the latest paint job currently in progress. It played a crucial role in World War I by intercepting German army messages, and a hidden floor, now used for storage, once served as an intermediate platform for guests. Visitors can catch a glimpse of a reconstructed apartment on the top floor, where only two people are known to have slept. Additionally, pieces of the tower, including rivets and iron parts, are available for purchase as souvenirs. [Extracted from the article]
