Abstract
A recent study from the University Libre de Bruxelles analyzed letters written by Belgian citizens apologizing for the country's colonial past in Congo. The research focused on how these apologies constructed the relationship between Belgians and Congolese, highlighting the use of discursive devices to maintain a distinction between the two groups. The study concluded by discussing the similarities and differences in intergroup relations portrayed in the letters.
