Abstract
The article focuses on Terry O’Connor’s lifelong connection to the RMS Queen Mary, beginning with his first visit to the ship’s arrival in New York City in 1936 and continuing through its final departure in 1967. O’Connor’s passion for ocean liners was nurtured from youth, leading to extensive documentation, photography, and personal relationships with the ship’s crews and captains. During World War II, he served on a V-4 tugboat supporting naval operations and later worked for Moran Towing Company, maintaining close ties to maritime activities and the Queen Mary. His experiences reflect a deep engagement with maritime history, ship culture, and the transatlantic ocean liner era.
