Abstract

The article focuses on reimagining the philosophical dichotomy of tree and rhizome by staging a transhistorical dialogue between Islamic metaphysical thinkers Ibn Arabi and Abdelkader and the modern theory of Deleuze and Guattari. Topics include critiquing Western metaphysical assumptions about transcendence and immanence, redefining the tree and forest through non-Western cosmologies, and exploring the concept of barzakh as a liminal metaphysical space.
