Abstract
This article focuses on the 1954 film *Sabrina*, directed by Billy Wilder and starring Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, and William Holden, highlighting its thematic exploration of cultural contrasts between Europe and America, social satire, and gender dynamics. The film centers on Sabrina, a chauffeur’s daughter, and her romantic entanglements with two wealthy brothers, using their relationships to critique materialism and transactional human interactions. The article also discusses the symbolic use of ocean liners to represent differing cultural values and the influence of screenwriter Ernest Lehman in shaping the film’s corporate and social critiques. Kino Lorber’s new 4K UHD + Blu-ray release offers enhanced visual quality and extensive bonus features that deepen appreciation of this work within 1950s Hollywood cinema.
