Abstract
This article provides a timeline of significant events in the development and use of nuclear weapons. It begins with the first successful detonation of a nuclear weapon by the United States in 1945, followed by the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The article also highlights the Soviet Union's successful nuclear test in 1949 and the US's first successful hydrogen bomb test in 1952. It mentions the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) by both the US and the Soviets, as well as the creation of tactical nuclear artillery by the US. The article concludes with the testing of the most powerful nuclear weapon, Tsar Bomba, by the Soviet Union in 1961, and the US's nuclear test in space in 1962.
