Abstract

The article focuses on Black History Month collaboration with scholar LaGarrett J. King to help educators treat Black history as a year-round, action-oriented practice rather than a one-month observance. Topics include using Black History Month as a reflective showcase of learning, expanding narratives to include joy, overlooked figures, and Black women's leadership, and strengthening Black history instruction across grade levels—from early elementary through advanced coursework.
