Abstract

The article focuses on the graphic adaptation of Raymond Chandler's "Trouble Is My Business," created by Arvind Ethan David, Illias Kyriazis, and Cris Peter. This adaptation brings to life Chandler's private detective Philip Marlowe and the 1940s Los Angeles setting in a stylized crime melodrama. The story follows Marlowe as he is hired to rescue a wealthy heir from a gold-digger, leading him into a complex revenge plot involving unexpected alliances. An 11-page excerpt features Marlowe's encounter with Harriet Huntress's chauffeur, George Hasterman. The graphic novel is published by Pantheon.
