Abstract
The article explores the impact of the development of birth control pill on American women's education, economics and role in society. It provides a history of the creation of female birth control pill and shows criticisms on the pill following its release including from historically oppressed racial groups, feminists and the Catholic Church. It discusses women's pursuit for higher education and higher paying jobs, the improving access to birth control and the shift in women's traditional role.
