Abstract
Climate activists have won a court case in Norway against the state over the development plans of several oil and gas fields off the country's coast. The Oslo District Court ruled that the impact of combustion emissions must be considered by law, and that no assessment of such emissions had been carried out in connection with the decisions in question. The state has been prohibited from making other decisions that require a valid development plan approval for the fields until the validity of the decisions has been legally determined. The energy ministry has stated that it will review the judgment with the government attorney and may consider appealing. [Extracted from the article]
