Abstract
The article reviews recent classical piano recordings, focusing on performances of Mozart, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Schumann, and Brahms. Su Yeon Kim's debut album highlights Mozart's piano sonatas and solo movements, demonstrating her deep connection to the composer and nuanced interpretation. Leonardo Pierdomenico's recording of Liszt's transcriptions of Schubert's Winterreise songs and Totentanz is praised for technical mastery and expressive depth. Yuja Wang's live-recorded album with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel features all four Rachmaninov piano concertos and the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, noted for its virtuosity and emotional intensity. Additionally, Hélène Grimaud's interpretations of Schumann's Kreisleriana and Brahms's Intermezzos and songs, with baritone Konstantin Krimmel, receive commendation for their eloquence and sensitivity.
