Abstract
The article centers on a reflective journey inspired by T. S. Eliot's *Four Quartets*, particularly the poem "The Dry Salvages," which meditates on time, loss, and place. The author recounts reading Eliot's work during a residency in Ljubljana at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, then returning to Massachusetts amid personal loss and global crisis. A pilgrimage to Cape Ann, Massachusetts—the setting of Eliot's childhood summers and the poem's titular rocky islets—serves as a means to connect with the poet's exploration of memory, landscape, and the passage of time. The narrative intertwines personal grief, historical context, and literary meditation, illustrating how place and poetry offer insight during moments of disruption and isolation.
