Abstract
This article focuses on research from Tilburg University in the Netherlands examining how participants in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) sessions learn to verbalize body awareness through a philosophy of language framework. Using concepts from philosophers Ludwig Wittgenstein and J.L. Austin, the study analyzed live MBSR dialogue to understand the challenges participants face in expressing bodily sensations, often defaulting to emotions or rational judgments instead. The findings suggest that learning to articulate body awareness involves mastering a "language-game" of reporting sense perceptions and highlight implications for mindfulness practices, especially regarding the limitations of apps and recorded sessions that lack interactive feedback. This research contributes to discussions on the relationship between language and body awareness and aligns with approaches in emotion regulation therapy. [Extracted from the article]
