Abstract
A Tokyo court has ordered the dissolution of a religious group, formerly known as the Unification Church, due to its fundraising methods and ties with ruling party politicians following the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The group, now called the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, has lost its tax-free status but can still operate in Japan and has the right to appeal the ruling. The incident has led to scrutiny of the group's practices, with the Ministry of Education and Culture filing a request for its disbandment in 2023. [Extracted from the article]
