Abstract

An interview with Japanese filmmaker Kurosawa Akira is presented. He talks about the apprenticeship system in the Japanese industry in the 1930s. He discusses the climate of militarism during the period and his experiences in film directing during the war. He explains the situation in the implementation of U.S. censorship after the war.
