Abstract

This article focuses on the publication of *Justice for Marcus Garvey: Look for Me in the Whirlwind*, a compilation of essays edited by Marcus Garvey's youngest son, Dr. Julius Garvey, released by Broadleaf Books to support a global petition urging President Joe Biden to pardon Garvey 101 years after his 1923 mail fraud conviction. The book features contributions from prominent Black publishers, booksellers, and writers, including Ta-Nehisi Coates and Paul Coates, who led the coalition behind the petition, which gathered over 100,000 signatures worldwide in 2022. Organizers and advocates hope the book's release will prompt the White House to exonerate Garvey and introduce his legacy to new generations. The article also notes related contemporary works addressing wrongful incarceration in the U.S. justice system.
