Abstract

The article reviews *The Sikorsky Aircraft Centennial 1923–2023: A Tribute* by Frank Colucci and John Bulakowski, published by the Igor I. Sikorsky Historical Archives to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Sikorsky Aircraft. The book traces the legacy of Igor Sikorsky, from his early life in Kyiv and pioneering fixed-wing aircraft in Russia to founding Sikorsky Aero Engineering Corp. in the U.S. and developing the first practical helicopters, including the VS-300 and the military R-4. It details the company's evolution through military and commercial aviation milestones, such as the CH-53 helicopter series and the S-76 commercial helicopter, as well as its adoption of digital engineering tools. The volume concludes by highlighting Sikorsky Aircraft's ongoing technological advancements and commitment to innovation in vertical flight.
