Abstract

The article analyzes the citations, inventive quotations and poetry in the multilingual lectures of poetry professor John Keble. Topics discussed are Keble's criterion for poetry including prose, history and Greek language, the poetic quality and structuring of the lectures' quotations as occasional flashes to depict the force borne out of the divine beauty of a discerning spirit in the eyes of Christ, and the Tractarian chain model of citation surrounding Keble's lectures.
