Abstract

The article explores the role of Felix Houphouet Boigny, the president of Ivory Coast, in supporting Biafra's struggle for secession during the Nigerian civil war. It highlights how Houphouet Boigny's intervention influenced Biafra's diplomatic efforts, arms supplies, and resettlement interventions. Despite facing criticism for his support, Houphouet Boigny remained committed to Biafra, driven by concerns about Islamism and Arabism in Nigeria. His actions were instrumental in shaping the outcome of the conflict and earned him the title of Biafra's "godfather." [Extracted from the article]
