Abstract

The article reports on an auction of four works by Edward Hopper, including a major oil painting, Cobb's Barns, South Truro (1930-33), at an auction by the Whitney Museum of American Art, in New York City on May 16th, 2023, leading to renewed concerns about the museum's custodianship.
