Abstract
The article focuses on raids carried out by the Committee of Safety on the homes of Indigenous families in 1777, particularly that of Konwatsi'tsiaenni Molly Brant, with the goal of asserting American control. The raids involved thefts of personal belongings, including silver candlesticks and clothing, aimed at inflicting terror and undermining the cultural identity and sovereignty of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) people and territorial claims in context of the American Revolution.
