Abstract
This article focuses on a recording of guitar quartets composed by Anthony Burgess, an English writer and composer known for his novel *A Clockwork Orange*. The Mela Guitar Quartet, graduates of the Guildhall School of Music formed in 2015, perform Burgess's contemporary yet accessible compositions with technical skill and expressive vitality. The program includes Burgess's original quartets, a transcription of Gustav Holst's *Mercury, the Winged Messenger*, arrangements of Irish pieces, and a 12-tone row quartet, culminating in an arrangement of Weber's *Oberon Overture*. The recording highlights Burgess's diverse musical style and the quartet's creative interpretation.
