Abstract
The article focuses on a project for creating a needlebook using sashiko stitching techniques inspired by the Japanese boro tradition. It details the materials needed, including indigo blue linen or cotton fabric, various cotton or silk scraps, wool felt, and specific sewing supplies, along with step-by-step instructions for assembling and embellishing the needlebook. The project holds personal significance as the author received donated Japanese fabrics from stitchers after losing her home and quilting materials in California's Dixie Fire in 2021. The needlebook features two inside pockets, a center felt panel for needles, and a ring for holding thread, combining practical use with traditional hand-stitching methods.
