Abstract

Fifteen opposition lawmakers in Zimbabwe lost their seats after an imposter posing as a party official recalled them, leading to by-elections that could give the ruling ZANU-PF party a two-thirds majority. The opposition party, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), filed a court appeal challenging the decision, stating that the imposter was not a CCC member and had no authority to recall the MPs. The case is likely to increase political tensions in Zimbabwe, which have been high since the disputed August election. [Extracted from the article]
