Abstract

The author reflects on taking on the role as editor-in-chief (EIC) of the journal. He talks about his personal background, his work focus on the causes of persistent poverty and its long-term effects, and what research tells about the correlation of a reduction in poverty and several factors including a combination of fair compensation, opportunities for growth or autonomy, and access to education or training.
